Shelter Free Rescue NY
Shelter Free Rescue NY is a non-profit 501c3 organization who pulls dogs from kill shelters, rescues strays, abused and neglected dogs, and rehomes surrendered dogs. We provide medical care and rehabilitation, and work extremely hard to get these animals adopted to the right family who will provide good animal welfare. This includes love, shelter, medical care, diet, understanding, and comfort.
We are currently a small home-based rescue, who is solely run by volunteers. What this means is in order to pull, rescue, and rehome a dog, we work with a team of volunteers who foster until we can find a forever home. We rely on our team of volunteers, fosters, adopters, and on donations in order to continue doing what we do.
We are not a breed specific rescue; however Bully Breeds is our primary focus, due to BSL and the high rate of euthanization of Bully Breeds in the shelters. However, we help rescue and support all breeds and work hard to find them a forever loving home.
DINAMARIE
Founder
Dinamarie is the founder of Shelter Free Rescue, based out of Queens, NY. This rescue was originated in 2023 after years of volunteer work at other rescues because of her love and passion for all animals. With four rescues of her own and through years of being part of the rescue community, she saw firsthand how these animals need us to be their voice, protector, and savior. Animals are being surrendered, abused, neglected and in our city shelters euthanized daily, due to overcrowding and lack of funds.
